"Liberty Enlightening the World!"
The Statue of Liberty was conceived as a gift to the United States from France. It represented both countries' commitment to the ideals of liberty and freedom.
But where would the money come from to pay for such an expensive project?
This pair of animated shorts shows how fundraising on both sides of the Atlantic led to the statue and pedestal's debut in 1876.

The exhibit was created in close collaboration with HISTORY and ESI Design. The films come to life in the gallery, displayed on a large semi-transparent screen in front of an illuminated wall depicting New York Harbor.
